Komori Corporation (Sumida-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Satoshi Mochida) announces the addition of the System 38D (LR-438/1250II), a 625mm cut-off thirty-two page web offset press, to its lineup.
System 38D (LR-438/1250II): An Offset Web Press Combining
Energy-saving Performance and High Productivity
In response to growing demand for environmentally conscious business strategies, Komori has developed a next-generation web offset press, the System 38D (LR-438/1250II), which delivers not only high productivity and high quality but also outstanding energy-saving performance.
This 32-page press inherits the superior print
quality and control systems of the highly acclaimed System series of offset web
presses while delivering enhanced energy-saving performance.
Komori’s proprietary technologies reduce makeready times while achieving a
printing speed of 40,000 iph. Delivering high quality, short makeready, and the
flexibility to handle everything from short to long runs, this highly efficient
web offset press opens new market opportunities.
In addition, by connecting prepress, press, and postpress processes through
KP-Connect Pro, the system optimizes the entire production workflow and
contributes to the realization of smart factories.
The System
38D reduces time, labor, and printing materials while lowering environmental
impact and also supports stable operation with an industry-leading support
network.
Technologies that Reduce
Environmental Impact
Komori has long pursued the development of
printing presses that are friendly to both people and the environment. In
recent years, reducing energy consumption has become one of the industry’s most
important challenges.
The new System 38D is equipped with the
next-generation KHS-AI integrated control system, AI-link and various
automation systems, significantly reducing paper waste, ink consumption, and
solvent usage. Komori’s proprietary Komorimatic dampening system forms a
uniform and thin water film using only the minimum amount of water, making it
well suited for alcohol-free printing. In addition, the adoption of a newly
developed motor contributes to lower power consumption.
Combining reduced energy costs with high productivity, the System 38D is a
machine designed to be friendly to both people and the environment.
